Q:
A user has forgotten their password, and can no longer login to WinCare. The system administrator can login though.

The system administrator to WinCare can fix this problem by doing the following steps:
Login to WinCare with a user who has System Administrator rights to WinCare.
Go to Utilities > Facility > Security > Users and Security Levels screen.
Highlight the user who cannot login. Click the Clear Passwords button, and you should get this message, "Are you sure you want to clear the login and electronic signature passwords for [User's Name]? (Can not be undone.) Yes No". Click Yes.
You should then get a message stating, "Login and Electronic Signature passwords for user [User Name] have been cleared. The user will be prompted for new passwords at login.". Click OK.
Now Exit WinCare to WinCare Login screen. Enter user's name who could not login before. Leave the password field BLANK. Click OK. WinCare will then give you message stating that the password cannot remain blank. Click OK, and now the password for this user can be set.

Q:
No one at our facility can login to WinCare. The person that knew the login is no longer available. We can't access our medical records in WinCare.
A:
WinCare Support policy is that we do not circumvent existing security for a facility's WinCare database without prior explicit authorization. If it is true no one can login to WinCare because no one knows the user name and password to get in, then have the facility Administrator make a short authorization letter authorizing a person to have system administrator access to WinCare on company letter head. The letter must be signed. Then fax the letter to WinCare fax number 1-541-776-3304. Have the authorized user call WinCare Support at 1-800-889-2349, then WinCare Support will be able to help with this problem.
